ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)

ADHD affects focus, organization, emotional regulation, and daily functioning—but it is also often misunderstood. Many adults struggle for years without a diagnosis, feeling “scatterbrained,” inconsistent, or frustrated by their own patterns. ADHD can impact work performance, self-esteem, relationships, and the ability to follow routines or manage responsibilities.

In therapy, we explore how ADHD uniquely affects you and build practical skills to support your daily life. This includes strategies for time management, planning, emotional balance, and reducing shame around symptoms. You will learn to understand your brain rather than fight against it, create systems that work for you, and recognize the strengths that often come with ADHD—creativity, intuition, and resilience.

Seek help if:

  • Symptoms last more than two weeks
  • Daily life feels unmanageable
  • You have thoughts of harming yourself or your baby
  • You feel anxious, panicked, or scared most of the day
  • Immediate help: Call 911 if you feel you or someone else is in danger.

Other ways to cope:

  • Talk to your doctor or OB-GYN—they can screen for postpartum depression and anxiety.
  • Connect with a psychotherapist for guidance and coping strategies.
  • Share your feelings with trusted family or friends.
  • Practice self-care: rest, eat well, and accept help.
  • Join support groups for new parents.
